Description

Their overview has been copy/pasted from the now extended description:

Melursus - Bear - Autumn
Homeland: Snowdon Falls

Leader: Not currently known

Overview and description:

The natural hybrid in the Wildling species manifests as the Melursus clan. Their main defining feature is the usually short tails that they possess. Whilst they aren't nearly as short as bear tails, they are, even at their longest, about half the length of the lion tails that the rest of the clans have. Like the Tarandus clan, they grow their fur out long, but tend to keep their manes relatively short at the same time. At the longest, their hairstyles reach down to the shoulder. Another defining feature of their clan is the hair that grows along their necks, which then joins with elongated feathering along their legs. Their home is host to a large waterfall.

They're the opposite of high strung, and don't take status all that seriously. They all learn how to protect themselves, but don't train to use offensive spells. They usually sport either contrasting colours, or subdued pastel colours. One of the few clans to support pink/purple pelts. Hooves can be dark to medium colours, but never light.

They tend to have small families compared to that of the Tarandus clan, believing that fewer children make better bonding siblings - one of the few things the clans disagree on! They rely on the Tarandus for support against natural threats, but are still very proud, and don't like to admit it all that much. The Melursus specialise in defensive spells, and tend to be the forerunners in 'display' magic, creating firework-like effects with their abilities, and mirages for the youngsters and adults alike to enjoy.

The Tarandus and Melursus clans both celebrate the equinox, as well as the longest and shortest days. Their largest celebrations tend to be on the longest day of the year. They grow their coats out naturally in time for the first snow of winter (though snow is present all year round in certain parts of the mountain). Late born foals who lack this coat are usually kept warm with cloaks, hats and scarves, and some continue to wear these into adulthood.

Allegiances:

Close to the Tarandus clan, due to their similar traits and habitats (most common hybrid-type due to their proximity)
They are open to the Philoden tribe, due to both clans having a carefree attitude.
They don't interact with the Nerensis tribe much at all, due to distance between them.

Since it's January, I'm interested in making a Melursus Wildling. I already have a Tarandus Wildling I made back in 2016 (which I'm currently drawing right now), so this would be my second MYO. I wanted to check in first before I started!
